There are way too many people entranced by Harry Potter. It's so bizarre how a book can become so popular. I went to the Harry Potter book premier last night, just because I enjoy festivities and there was a crowd of people there. I mean, I kinda expected more for some reason, but there was a good bunch of people. It was pretty awesome to see so many people I knew there though. Like a reunion of sort, Harry Potter edition. Except I just came for fun and not to really buy the book. So yea, lots of little kids running around in random witch and wizard costumes. Why can't someone dress as a character? I wanted to see Hermione. Or Ron. Maybe perchance the twins. For some reason there were a lot of couples there too. Anyway, it was a nice night, though when they announced that the book was for sale I was scared out of my life that a mob of wizard-like children would mob me for a closer spot to see the books come through the door. They gave out glowsticks too which I luckly got without mobbing. That was my grand prize from the evening. Aside from some *insert synonyms for amazing here* deep fried Snicker doughnut balls at Alondra's. Speechless goodness.
Left the bookstore at around 1:30am, and people while people were still waiting to get their books. The crowd died down though so it was easier to breathe.
How do books become so famous?
